Nine years shipping full-stack products end to end — lately, teaching agents to do the boring parts.
The short version of a long story
I started in computer science at Tecnológico de Costa Rica — later adding a data science certificate — which taught me two things: how systems fail, and that most of them fail at the seams. So I've spent nine years working the seams — backend, frontend, infrastructure, and the conversations in between — across telecom, SaaS, and startups, including leading the migration of 40+ legacy MuleSoft APIs to Node.js for a U.S. telecom.
In 2024 I co-founded Nexora, a multi-tenant event ticketing SaaS for Latin America. Two engineers, the whole stack: 200+ endpoints, four React frontends, payments in two rails, ticket scanning at the door, and the occasional support ticket at 2am. Building a product end to end with no one to hand things off to is the best architecture course I never paid for.
These days a growing share of my work is applied AI — agentic workflows with the Anthropic Agent SDK, Claude Code, and MCP. Not chatbots bolted onto products: agents wired into real pipelines, doing work you can measure.
Where the nine years went
Building a multi-tenant event ticketing SaaS for Latin America end to end, as one of two founding engineers.
- Architected full platform: 200+ REST endpoints, 120+ stored procedures, multi-tenant RBAC
- Built 4 React/TypeScript frontends: admin dashboard, customer checkout, super-admin, offline ticket scanner PWA
- GCP infrastructure (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) via Pulumi IaC, K8s + Tekton CI/CD
- AI agent system on Anthropic Agent SDK, Claude API, and MCP — automating git workflows, code search, build/test, and PR creation
- Dual payments: Stripe (+ Apple/Google Pay) and SINPE Móvil with reconciliation and commission tracking
Senior backend engineer and de-facto tech lead on two U.S. telecom engagements (CCI, Frontier).
- Led migration of 40+ legacy MuleSoft APIs to Node.js at CCI (U.S. telecom)
- Set backend architectural direction: service boundaries, API contracts, integration standards
- Raised engineering standards — testing coverage, documentation practices, CI conventions
- Mentored junior/mid engineers; default escalation for non-trivial architectural questions
